Honor Our Military, Donate Blood
This Memorial Day we recognize the sacrifices of everyday, ordinary people. These ordinary people stood up against adversity and chose to become extraordinary through sacrifice. The men and women of our military have, throughout the centuries of its existence, answered a call to service and chose to sacrifice where others remained content. Let’s mobilize our community to show our support of Veterans and Active Military!
A blood drive will be held at the
Veterans Memorial Association (VMA) building on May 27th from 12:30pm – 3:30pm in partnership with the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #293 and the American Legion Post #3 at 1626 Willamette St. In addition, a brick will be purchased for the base of the flagpole at the Veterans Memorial Building to commemorate the donations of Lane Blood Center donors in honor of our military. Schedule your appointment today at laneblood.org or by calling 541-484-9111.
Commander Nolan Nelson is a veteran and a long time blood donor. He has donated 116 times with Lane Blood Center and many times before that during his time in the military. Commander Nelson says “I have a personal affection for donating blood as a volunteer activity. It’s so very appropriate for those who have served in the military) to serve the community in this way.” We thank you for your service and your blood, Commander Nolan. We encourage others to follow in our veterans’ life-saving footsteps.
